Description
Cleft stick with handwritten label 'Method employed by native messengers carrying across the desert, and the way in which Mr Wellcome received hand-messages at his archaeological expedition camp in the Sudan, Africa'. The label was likely suggested interpretation for display in the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum. An envelope labelling the item from Henry Wellcome is held between the stick.
