Description

Notebook containing notes on materia medica, mainly extracted from relevant historical and contemporary works, with one or two press cuttings and other enclosures pasted in. The extracts are often dated with a note of where the work was read, such as the British Museum, the Linnean Society, the Pharmaceutical Society, the Royal Society, Kew Gardens or the London Institution. There are lengthy extracts of statistics of drug exports from various overseas territories from 1860 onwards, mainly based on Blue Books, consular reports, and other official publications.
