The life and adventures of Gilbert Langley, formerly of Serle-Street near Lincoln's-Inn, Goldsmith. Containing particularly, His Family, Education, and Accidents in his tender Years. His being sent into Flanders, to the Convent of English Benedictines at Doway, with a curious Detail of their Method in bringing up Youth. His return to England, and his first Slips in point of Honesty and Virtue. His Amours with all Sorts of loose Women, and great variety of Accidents which happened in Consequence of them. His meeting with a Cheat, who had Address enough to bite him twice. His Marriage, and fraudulent Arts to support a broken Fortune. His Contrivance to amass a vast Quantity of Jewels, Watches, rich Toys, &c. to the Amount of 20,000 l. His Flight to Holland, and strange Adventures there, 'till detected by his Creditors, and best Part of his Effects taken from him. His return to England, Voyage to the West-Indies, Rogueries there, and miserable Condition when he came back. Imprisoned in the Counter, reduced to Want, hangs Himself at a Bailiffs House; escape from thence, and a new Trip to Sea. His Travels thro' Spain, Adventures in the Canaries, arrival in Italy, and return to London. His last Exploit, which brought him within Sight of a Halter. Written by himself, in Maidstone-Goal, when under condemnation, for a robbery committed on the highway.

Verses on the coronation of their late Majesties King George II. and Queen Caroline, October 11, MDCCXXVII. Spoken by the scholars of Westminster School, (some of them now the ornaments of the nation) on January 15, following, being the day of the inauguration of Queen Elizabeth, their foundress. With a translation of all the Latin copies, the whole placed in the order of the transactions of that important day. Adorned with the coronation medals of the royal pair, and a bust of our present King. To which is subjoined the ceremonial of the august procession, very proper to be compared with the approaching one; and a catalogue of the coronation medals of the kings and queens of England.

Together with Catalogues of the Records brought to Berwick from the Royal Treasury at Edingburgh; of such as were transmitted to the Exchequer at Westminster, and of those which were removed to different Parts of Scotland by Order of King Edward I. The Proceedings relating to the carrying back the Records of Scotland into that Kingdom; and the Transactions of the Parliament there from the 15th of May 1639, to the 8th of March 1650. To which are added memoranda concerning the affairs of Ireland, extracted from the tower records. To the Whole is prefixed an Introduction, giving some Account of the State of the Public Records from the Conquest to the present Time.
