In which wll be exhibited the experiments neccessary for the explanation of natural philosophy in general, or the properties of matter and the law by which it acts. Mechanics. Astronomy; or the phœnomena arising from the motion of the heavenly bodies. Geography, and the use of the globes, &c. Hydrostatics; or the nature and laws of fluids explained. Pneumatics, explaining the surprising properties of the air, which depend upon its pressure and elasticity, its rarefaction, condensation, &c. Optics; or the science of vision. By J. Arden, teacher of Experimental Philosophy at Beverly. The charge of going through this course is one guinea each, to be paid or the time of subscribing, or at the first lecture; and to begin as soon as thirty or more have subscribed.

Medicine made to agree with the institutions of nature; or a new mechanical practice of physick: Containing Certain New Principles and Methods for Preserving Health, and Curing Diseases; grounded on the Established Laws of Nature, Motion, and the Animal Oeconomy: Wherein is given the Solution, Demonstration, Use, and Application of that Capital and most Useful, but hitherto Unregarded and Unattempted Problem. Shewing how to apply all the Mechanical Properties and Qualities of those three Catholick Agents and Instruments of Nature, namely, Air, Water, and Motion; in all Degrees, Quantities, and Combinations, by proper Machines, either to the whole Human Body, or to any particular Region or Member thereof, and likewise to the Lungs, and Respiring Organs; by which three General Principles, together with Aliment, all the Intentions and Alterations necessary to be produced in the Animal Solids and Fluids, for Attaining Health, Long Life, and the Cure of Diseases; will become effected in the most Perfect, Safe, Expeditious, Universal Manner. The Mechanical Solution of this Catholick Problem, so much wanted, being of all others the most Useful, as comprehending the whole Materia Medica, with the whole Practice of Physick, in its utmost Extent and Perfection; is therefore propos'd as a Subject meriting the most serious Attention and Encouragement of the Publick, in order to bring the same to Perfection; but more especially of all the Physicians in Great Britain and Europe, to whom it is humbly Address'd and Referr'd, and who it's hoped will employ their joint Endeavours towards bringing the same into Practice, for the General Benefit of Mankind. Philosophical essays, in three parts. Containing I. An enquiry into the nature and properties of the electrical fluid, in order to explain, illustrate and confirm the truth of Sir Isaac Newton's Doctrine of a Subtile Medium or Aether. II. A dissertation on the nature of fire in general, and Production of Heat in particular. III. A miscellaneous discourse, wherein the forementioned active Principle is shewn to be the only probable mechanical Cause of Motion, Cohesion, Gravity, Magnetism, and other Phaenomena of Nature. To which is subjoin'd, by way of Appendix, a clear and concise Account of the Variation of the Magnetic Needle or Mariner's Compass; by which the Longitude is investigated on the most simple Principles. And, to render the whole more intelligible, a Glossary of Terms is added. By R. Lovett, Lay-Clerk, Of the Cathedral Church of Worcester. A Fool may find what a wise Man hath overlooked.

Myographia nova: or, a graphical description of all the muscles in the humane body, as they arise in dissection: distributed into six lectures. At the Entrance into which, Are Demonstrated the proper Muscles belonging to each Lecture, now in General Use at the Theatre in Chirurgeons-Hall, London, and illustrated with two and forty copper-plates accurately Engraven after the Life, not only with their Names, but their Uses, fairly delineated on each Plate, as much as can be exprest by Figures; with an Explanation of their Names throughout the whole Discourse: As also their Originations, Insertions, and Uses, at large, in their proper Descriptions, and various useful Annotations, and curious Observations both of the Author's, and other Modern Anatomists. Together with a Phoilosophical and Mathematical Account of the mechanism of muscular motion, and an Accurate and Concise discourse of the heart and its Use, with the circulation of the blood, etc. and with a compleat Account of the Arteries and Veins, as to their outward Coats, proving them to be made with Circular Fleshy Fibres, by whose Contractions their Trunks become Narrowed, and the Fluid Particles of the Blood are sent forwards into all the Parts of the Body. Digested into this New Method, by the Care and Study of John Browne, Sworn Chirurgeon in Ordinary to the King's Most Excellent Majesty, and late Senior Chirurgeon of St. Thomas's Hospital, Southwark.
