The ancient psychrolousia revived: or, an essay to prove cold bathing both safe and useful. In four letters. Letter I. Concerning the Antiquity of Religious and Medicinal Immersion. Letter II. An Account given of Hippocrates's Opinion, concerning the Nature of Cold Baths, and their Usefulness. Letter III. The Ancient Immersion in Baptism is described, and that it continued in England, till about the Year 1600. and was also useful to Cure many infirmities in Infants, and prevent hereditary Diseases, is clearly proved. Also a letter of Dr. Baynard's, Containing an Account of many Eminent Cures done by the Cold Baths in England. An essay to restore the dipping of infants in their baptism; with a dialogue betwixt a curate and his parishioner, concerning the manner of immersion. This tract contains Three Chapters, I. The Reasons for Restoring Dipping are Proposed, and the Causes of Introducing sprinkling are discovered; and some Instances of late Dipping of infants are related. II. An Answer is given to the Socinian Arguments against Baptism; and to Dr. Lightfoot's Defence of Sprinkling. III. It is proved, That all Antient Baptisms of the Gentiles, the Jews, and Primitive Christians, were performed by immersion; and Aquinas's Exceptions against immersion, are Answered. To which is Added by way of Appendix, Dr. Williams's letter concerning the great cure he lately performed by Cold Bathing. And a Letter against the Inoculation in the Small Pox. The physician's pulse-watch; or, an essay to explain the old art of feeling the pulse, and to improve it by the help of a pulse-watch. In three parts. I. The Old Galenic Art of Feeling the Pulse is describ'd, and many of its Errors corrected: The true Use of the Pulses, and their Causes, Differences and Prognostications by them, are fully explain'd, and Directions given for Feeling the Pulse by the Pulse-Watch, or Minute-Glass. II. A New Mechanical Method is propos'd for preserving Health, and prolonging Life, and for curing Diseases by the help of the Pulse-Watch, which shews the Pulses when they exceed or are deficient from the natural. III. The Chinese Art of Feeling the Pulse is describ'd; and the Imitation of their Practice of Physick, which is grounded on the Observation of the Pulse, is recommended. A treatise of the asthma : divided into four parts : in the first is given a history of the fits, and the symptoms preceding them : in the second, the cacochymia which disposes to the fit, and the rarefaction of the spirits which produces it, are described : in the third, the accident causes of the fit, and the symptomatic asthmas are observed : in the fourth, the cure of the asthmas fit, and the method of preventing it is proposed : to which is annext a digression about the several species of acids distinguish'd by their tastes, and 'tis observ'd how far they were thought convenient or injurious in general practice by the old writers, and most particularly in relation to the care of the asthma.

An Answer to the Papists Evasions, that the Whore is the State of Pagan Rome, or a future State of it. IV. Notes on the several Figures of the Roman Empire in this Prophecy. V. Notes on the several Temples, mention'd in this Prophecy, on the Sealing of the Saints, and on the City called New Jerusalem. And in this Prophecy the three States of the Saints after Death are plainly described; the Separate State of their Souls, their Millennary Reign with Christ on Earth, and their Glorious State in the new Heaven and Earth.
