Heart of Oak, the British bulwark. Shewing, I. Reasons for paying greater attention to the propagation of Oak. Timber than has hitherto been manifested. II. The insufficiency of the present laws to prevent the want or scarcity of that commodity. III. The testimony of some of the most eminent timber merchants, shipwrights, &c. proving not only the great decrease, but the proportionate decrease for thirty or forty years last past, of the full grown timber fit for the navy or merchants service, in the principal timber counties throughout the Kingdom. IV. That the neglect of planting, if not immediately remedied, will be the ruin of this Kingdom. V. The author's opinion what methods would be most effectual to prevent this calamity.
