Damask, Chintz and other Window Curtains; Mahogany Desk and Book Cases, Chests of Drawers, Chairs, Tables and Looking Glasses; a valuable Eight-Day Spring Clock; a Library Table, &c. A catalogue of the genuine and capital collection of natural history, collected by that well-known connoisseur, the late Charles Chauncey, M.D. Fellow of the Royal Antiquarian Society, together with several curious articles selected by his brother Nathaniel Chauncery, Esq. deceased: Among which we a pleasing affortment of beautiful shells, some of them very scarce, particularly the orange gowry, and two elegant cups, formed of the nautilus shell, finely engraved and carved by C. Bellekin; a great variety of agates, mochos, jaspers, sardonyxes, crystals, gems, and other curious stones, remarkable for beauty or rarity; corals, petrifactions; uncommonly fine specimens of amber gum-copal, some of them inclosing insects; preserved birds, and numerous other productions of nature, together with the elegant mahogany cabinets and glass cases which contained them. Which by order of the executors of Nathaniel Chauncey, Esq. late of Castle-Street, Leicester-Fields. Will be sold by auction, by Mr. Gerard, at his house in Litchfield-Street, St. Anne's, Soho, on Monday, April 12, 1790, and the three following days, at twelve o'clock precisely. To be viewed on Friday, the 9th, and Saturday, the 10th from ten o'clock till three. A catalogue of all the elegant and rich houshold furniture, the capital library of well-chosen books, linen, china, pictures, prints and drasvings, about 400 dozen of the choicest wines, Consisting of fine old port, claret, burgunddy, champagne, madeira, &c. in the highest state of perfection, curious exotics, 25 fine orange trees, and other valuable effects, of the Late William Sheldon, Esq; dec. At his seat, called Weston, near Long Compton, in the county of Warwick. The furniture-consists of crimson and yellow silk damask, silk lorine, beautiful chintz-pattern cotton, morine, and other furniture in suits of beds, window curtains, chairs and sophas; large pier and other glasses; Axminster, Turkey and Wilton carpets; fine tapestry hangings; great variety of exceeding good mahogany articles in wardrobes, chests of drawers, tables, chairs, &c. fine old Japan cabinets; large brewing coppers; exceeding good kitchen furniture, &c. &c. &c. Which will be sold by auction, by Mess. Christie and Ansell, on the premises, on Monday, August 27, 1781, and 13 following days, Sundays excepted, the sale of the books included. The furniture to be viewed the 23d, 24th and 25th preceding the sale; the library of books to be viewed on the 4th, 5th, and 6th of September; the wines to be tasted on the 6th of September, on which day they will be sold. Catalogues may be had on the premises; at the Star at Oxford; at Chapel-House, within 7 miles of the premises; at the Swan, Birmingham; the Swan at Warwick; the Hop Pole, Worcester; and of Mess. Likewise, all the houshold and other furniture; consisting of Damask and other Beds, Window-Curtains, and Hangings; Pier, Chimney, and Glass Sconces; India, Rose-Wood and Mahogany Cabinets, Screens, Chests, Tables, and Chairs; rich Brussels Tapestry; Persia, and other Carpets; great Choice of the old fine Japan China, and particularly, a most exquit site Set of fine Landskip Dresden China; a Sideboard of useful Plate; a Wardrobe of exceeding good Houshold Linnen, fine wrought Quilts, Counterpanes, &c. together with sundry Fire-Arms, a very handsome Town Chariot, with a Pair of good Coach-Horses, and other valuable Effects. To which is added, the collection of Edward Jeffryes, of the Inner Temple, Esq; deceas'd. The Furniture, Pictures, &c may be view'd at the Place of Sale on Friday the 12th instant, and every Day after (sunday excepted) till the Time of Sale, which will begin each Day at Eleven in the Forenoon. Which will be sold by auction, on Tuesday the 16th of this instant December, 1740, and the Five following Days, at his House in Alderman's Walk, Bishopsgate. Catalogues of which may be had gratis on Thursday the 11th, at the Place of Sale; at Batson's Coffee-House, Cornhill; and at Mr. Cocks, in the Great Piazza Covent-Garden. N. B. By order of the Executors of an Eminent Weaver Deceas'd, Immediately after the Holydays will be exposed to Sale at Mr. Cock's in the Great Piazza Covent Garden, A very large Parcel of the newest fashioned Silks, which were designed for the Spring Trade, such as Brocades, Damasks, Padesoys, Tabbies, New Striped and Plain Ducapes. Mantua's, &c. Which will be cut into proper Quantities, for the Accomodation of the Town.
