A catalogue of that much esteemed and truly valuable museum of the Marquis Lenori, of Pesaro; consisting of A great Number of curious Intaglios and Cameos, in a Variety of most beautiful and scarce Gems, many of which are Greek Workmanship, and richly mounted in Gold; so fine a Collection it may be presumed has rarely if ever been submitted to public Sale. Vases, Cups, &c. of oriental Agate, Bronzes in Groupes, Figures, Busts, &c. of the earliest and of the later Times; amongst these are eight large Figures on Pedestals of Bronze highly ornamented, the most capital Performance of that celebrated Artist, Sansovino. Roman Earthenware in great Preservation, painted from Designs after Raphael, and other great Masters. Carvings in Marble, Ivory, &c. The Labours of Hercules nobly composed and elaborately cut in Wood, a Work of great Antiquity. The twelve Caesars in large Cameos, the Heads of Agate, the Draperies in variegated Marble. An extraordinary Assortment of upwards of a Thousand Specimens of valuable Stones neatly ranged, and particularized in fifteen Drawers, Arabic Manuscripts, with other scarce and curious Articles, many of which have been purchased at a great Expence out of the first Collections in Europe. Which will be sold by Auction, By Mr. Christie, At his Great Room, next Cumberland House, in Pall Mall, On Monday, January 27, 1772, and three following Days, To be viewed on Tuesday the 21st and till the Sale. Particulars of a valuable and truly eligible freehold estate, delightfully situate in the parishes of Shackleford and Pepper Harrow; in the most pleasant and healthy part of the county of Surry; Consisting of a capital, regular, and exceedingly substantial modern mansion, called Shackleford House, with numerous corresponding attached and detached offices of every description; excellent kitchen garden, inclosed by lofty walls, cloathed with choice fruit trees in full bearing; green house, ice house; farm yard, lodges, &c. Ninety-two acres and upwards of excellent land, about thirty acres of which are fine meadow, the rest arable land and pleasure grounds; and six fish ponds stored with carp, tench, trout, &c. Appearing from the mansion to be, and convertible at a small expence into, one continued sheet of water, of great length. The whole surrounded by plantations and walks in a ring fence, partly inclosed by a new oak paling. The mansion and offices are in perfect repair; the grounds in a high state of cultivation; and form a comforatble, exceedingly convenient, and complete residence for a family of distinction. Also six fields of excellent arable land, containing together twenty-three acres, twenty-nine perch, partly adjoining to, and partly at a small distance from the above, with extensive common rights on Shackleford and Pepperharrow commons, and the right of the private road from Shackleford to the turnpike road between Farnham and Guildford. Particulars and conditions of sale of sundry capital and singularly eligible freehold estates, in the counties of Essex, Suffolk, and Bucks, the property of Thomas Staunton, Esq; decd. Consisting of the Capital and Extensive manor of stow, In the Parish of Great samford; The manors of little samford and tewes, With courts baron, royalties, &c. stored with game; a mansion house, sundry Capital farms, a wind mill. The Fighting Cocks Inn, and several Messuages, Cottages, and Tenements, in the Parishes of Great and Little Samford, containing together about one thousand and eighty-nine acres, Of rich Arable, Meadow, Pasture, and Wood Lands, Situate about Four Miles from Thaxsted, and Seven from Sapron Walden, in the most Pleasant and Fertile Part of the county of essex, Part of which is in hand, and the Rest greatly underlet to responsible Tenants at will, viz. Mess. Peter Portway, John Coe, John Dench, Robert Goulstone, Peter Portway, Jun. William Stock, James Philpot, &c. at Annual Rents, amounting together to near eight hundred pounds, But capable of considerable Improvement. Mess. Edmond Turner, John Turner, James Cumberland Bentley, and Joseph Baggot, all of which, except Joseph Baggot, are Tenants at Will, at Annual Rents, amounting together to Four Hundred and Ninety-One Pounds and upwards, But capable of considerable Improvement. The perpetual advowson and right of presentation to the Vicarage of Sibton, with the Church or Chapel of Peasenhall, of the Annual Value of about £80. the present Incumbent aged about Forty Years. The Lordship and grange of smeunes of great Extent, With court baron, royalties, fishery, &c. stored with game; two eligible farms, and capital water paper mills, In the parishes of soulbury and breckhill, Within Three Miles of Penny Stratford, and Four of Wooburn, in the county of bucks, And two tenements and gardens, In the parish of wooburn, in the county of bedford, containing together ninety-four acres and upwards Of excellent land, and much underlet to Mr. Horne and Son, John Franklin, and Joseph Body, at Annual Rents, amounting together to One Hundred and Twelve Pounds Ten Shillings, But capable of considerable Improvement.
