The Distressed lady: or, The Yorkshire beauty. Made happy. A faithful and true story; Shewing how a young lady came up to London to seek her fortune, and how she fell in love with a gentleman who wanted to debauch her, but it pleased divine providence to make her too powerful for him; the gentleman then went out of his senses, and after the young lady had gone through a multiplicity of misfortunes, and aggravated by the ties of virtue and honour had an immense estate left her, and her sincere love, and his honour were at last happily crown'd by marrying the gentleman, of whose great abilities she at the beginning of their first interview had a great reason to doubt. By this we see the unsearchable wisdom of God Almighty. To which is added, Ovid's art of beauty.
