1797. 3 May. By Order in Council an Act of Parliament Petty Officers, (except Surgeon's Mates) Seamen, Ordinary Seamen, Landmen and Marines pay to be increased. Petty Officers and Seamen - 056 a Month Ordinary Seamen - 046 Landmen 036 Marines-Serjeants 048 Corporal 046 Private - 053 To commence the 24th April 1797. 1798. 21 September. Men belonging to Gangs in hired Tenders to be allowed the encreased Pay. Order in Council 1799, 26 April. - Commanders in Vessels not bearing Pursers, whose Complements do not exceed 60, to have 8s. a Day. Order in Council, 1799, 1 May-Lieutenants commanding Prison Ships to have 6s. a Day, and Compensation for two Servants.
