The gentleman and cabinet-maker's director. Being a large collection of the most elegant and useful designs of houshold furniture in the Gothic, Chinese and modern taste: including a great variety of book-cases for libraries or private rooms. commodes, library and writing-tables, buroes, breakfast-tables, dressing and China-tables, China-cases, hanging-shelves, tea-chests, trays, fire-screens, chairs, settees, sopha's, beds, presses and cloaths-chests, pier-glass sconces, slab frames, brackets, candle-stands, clock-cases, frets. And other ornaments. To which is prefixed, a short explanation of the five orders of architecture, and rules of perspective; with proper directions for executing the most difficult pieces, the mouldings being exhibited at large, and the dimensions of each design specified: the whole comprehended in one hundred and sixty copper-plates, neatly engraved, calculated to improve and refine the present taste, and suited to the fancy and circumstances of persons in all degrees of life. A catalogue of the genteel houshold furniture, a piano forte, in mahogany case, an excellent mahogany sideboard with cellarets, an eight-day clock, small iron chest, bedsteads and bedding, chairs, and tables, pier glasses, carpets, and other effects, of a lady. Also, by permission is added, the neat and genteel household furniture, handsome pier glasses, a drawing-room suit, in chintz-pattern cotton, a handsome light phaeton, with town-made plated harness, nearly new, and other effects of a person of fashion, removed from No. 7, Holles Street, Cavendish Square. The furniture comprizes four-bost bed leads, with rich silk needle-work, mohair furniture, &c. Goose feather beds and bedding, excellent mahogany cabinet work in chests of drawers, dining, card, and Pembroke tables, parlor and bed-chamber chairs, turkey and Wilton carpets, kitchen furniture, &c. Which will be sold by auction, by Mr. Compton, on the premises, No. 18, Conduit Street, Hanover Square, on Wednesday the 4th of November, 1789, and following day. A catalogue of the household furniture of Mr. Henry Watson, (deceasd) (late steward to the Rt. Hon. the Earl of Bath) brought from his late dwelling-house in Clarges-street, Piccadilly. The whole consisting of crimson, yellow, blue and other damask beds, and window-curtains, mahogany and walnut-tree chairs, rich sconces, book-cases and buroes; together with a collection of pictures by the best masters some china, curious hench metal chandeliers, Japan cabinets, Turkey and other carpets, gold watches, plate and jewels, several pieces of fine Hollands, and table-linen, two harpsichords, and other musical instruments, some curious antique earthen vases, &c. and other curiosities. Which will be sold by auction, on Thursday the 10th of this instant November 1743; and the following days, at Mr. Ford's in the Hay-Market. The whole may be viewed on Monday the 7th, and the following days, till the time of sale, which will begin at half an hour after eleven precisely. A catalogue of all the elegant and rich houshold furniture, the capital library of well-chosen books, linen, china, pictures, prints and drasvings, about 400 dozen of the choicest wines, Consisting of fine old port, claret, burgunddy, champagne, madeira, &c. in the highest state of perfection, curious exotics, 25 fine orange trees, and other valuable effects, of the Late William Sheldon, Esq; dec. At his seat, called Weston, near Long Compton, in the county of Warwick. The furniture-consists of crimson and yellow silk damask, silk lorine, beautiful chintz-pattern cotton, morine, and other furniture in suits of beds, window curtains, chairs and sophas; large pier and other glasses; Axminster, Turkey and Wilton carpets; fine tapestry hangings; great variety of exceeding good mahogany articles in wardrobes, chests of drawers, tables, chairs, &c. fine old Japan cabinets; large brewing coppers; exceeding good kitchen furniture, &c. &c. &c. Which will be sold by auction, by Mess. Christie and Ansell, on the premises, on Monday, August 27, 1781, and 13 following days, Sundays excepted, the sale of the books included. The furniture to be viewed the 23d, 24th and 25th preceding the sale; the library of books to be viewed on the 4th, 5th, and 6th of September; the wines to be tasted on the 6th of September, on which day they will be sold. A catalogue of the superb and elegant household furniture; numerous pier glasses of large dimensions; 10,000 ounces of modern silver and gilt plate, of the best workmanship; a service of plated, never used, of the same magnitude; two antique bronzed vases and bronzed figures, in excellent preservation; a most Capital Order of Malta, set with brilliants; Gold Orders of St. Louis, dress swords, &c.; a magnificent throne of rich crimson Genoa velvet, trimmed with broad gold lace; a state chair, and suit of ditto to correspond; a beautiful cabinet of matchless Seve porcelaine, which this country cannot equal; table and dessert services of ditto, and of the d'Angouleme manufactory; elegant French clocks, by Lepine, of Paris; capital groups of biscuit figures; numerous brilliant cut glass chandeliers and lustres; a matchless wardrobe of fine damask table and household linen; gold and silver-laced livery cloaths; a few good pictures; 250 dozen of rich-flavoured champaign, burgundy, madeira, and other choice wines; sumptuous state and other carriages, with harness, &c. The whole were absolutely the property of the late Marquis de la Luzerne, Ambassador from the Court of France to his Britannic Majesty, deceased; which (by order of the executor) will be sold by auction, by Messrs. Turner and Hutchins, on the premisses, the north side of Portman Square, on Monday, March the 5th, 1792, and the eleven following days, at twelve o'clock, (the 9th and 10th, and Sundays, excepted.) To be viewed on Thursday the 1st of March, and the two following days.
