Kemp, Manning and Elves discuss bone grafting surgery. They show, using x-rays of actual case studies, what bone grafts actually are and how they function. The three main uses of bone grafts are covered and include: the management of fractures, the strengthening of joints made weak by disease and the replacement of bone lost to trauma or tumour. Three types of bone graft are also outlined: the autograft, the homograft and the allograft. Each area is explained in depth and illustrated with examples. 10 segments.
