In the middle image, the two figures in the left-hand corner may refer back to Brueghel's 'Tower of Babel' in which Nimrod the king, in the left-hand corner with his entourage, supervises the building. In the print, one of the two figures wears a crown and the other, perhaps an architect, holds a plan
