A catalogue of the town-library of the late Sir William Burrell, Bart. L.L.D. Fellow of the Antiquary Society, Deceased: Comprehending an extraordinary choice Collection of the Greek and Roman Classics, with their Lexicons, And many of the rarest Collane; For the most Part in Large Paper, and in Morocco and Russia Bindings: together with A Selection of British History, Antiquities, and Topography; Several beautiful Manuscripts upon Vellum, with Illuminations; Books of Prints and Drawings, and other literary Curiosities; The whole in fine Condition. Which will be sold by auction, At the Turf Gallery, opposite the Chapel, in Conduit Street, Hanover Square, On Monday, May 2, 1796, and the Four following Days; to begin precisely at Twelve O'Clock. The catalogue of the very valuable museum, of that intelligent and well-known collector, the late William Smith, Esq. of Boston, in Lincolnshire, removed to London, to be sold, pursuant to his will. Comprising manuscripts and missalls, on vellum, richly illuminated; cameos, intaglios, gems, medals, miniatures, vases, bronzes, large china jars, pagodas, beautiful model of a man of war, &c.&c. Small, but valuable library of books, in French, English, Spanish, and Italian. A selection of admirable paintings, the works of the following masters: Lionardo Da Vinci, titian, Rubens, Le' seur, Cuyp, Vander Heyden, Weenix, Teniers, Mieris, Canaletti, Vander Werf, Breughal, Dhetrechii, Frank Hals, Rottenhamer, &c. &c. Including, those exquisite pictures of flowers and fruit, companions, painted by Van Husum, for some time exhibited at the Europeran museum, universally admired, and are marchless in beauty and preservation. And which will be sold by auction by Peter Coxe, Burrell, and Foster, at Mr. Squibbs's great rooms, Saville Row, on Tuesday, February 25, 1800, and following day, at twelve o'clock.
