The London companion: or, an account of the fares of hackney coachmen, chairmen, And watermen; With the rates of carmen and porters, Plying in London, Westminster, or Southwark. Containing, I. The Fares of Hackney Coaches, from One to Five Shillings, from all their different Stands to the principal Streets, Squares, Places of public Entertainment, and neighbouring Villages; comprehending upwards of 30,000 different Fares. II. The Fares of Hackney Chairs, to and from all the Squares and Places of public Resort, in or about London. III. The Fares of Watermen, from all the Stairs, Wharfs, and Docks, between Vauxhall and Limehouse; and to all the Towns and Villages up to Windsor, or down to Gravesend. IV. The New Rates of Carmen, as settled by the Lord Mayor and Court of Aldermen, on the 9th of August, 1774. V. The Rates taken by Porters for Shipping, Landing, Loading, Housing, and Weighing of Goods. Interspersed with Abstracts of the Acts of Parliament relating to each. The Whole on a Plan entirely New, and far more Extensive than any Work of the Kind ever yet attempted.
