<p>The 7th part of an 8-part series in which Dr. Alice Roberts, doctor and anatomist, explores the workings of the human body. This part looks at the bones, muscles and joints. Bone and joint problems are the major cause of pain in Britain today - A&E nurse Dawn suffers from lower back pain so Roberts shows her how the bones and muscles of the back fit together and she is encouraged to attend physiotherapy sessions. The correct way to bend and lift is covered in detail and the maleability of bones is described. Stuart, a sufferer of osteoarthritis describes surgery to replace his damaged hip joint.</p>
