An impartial account of the cruelties exercised in the inquisition in Spain, Portugal, and Italy: Particularly, the trial and sufferings, of Mr. Isaac Martin, who was put into the inquisition in Spain, for the sake of the Protestant religion: with an account of his deliverance. To which is annex'd, a copy of a certificate sign'd by the then archbishop and bishops relating to his sufferings. Also a description of the inquisition of Granda; and the prosecution of the samous molinos; his condemnation, imprisonment and death. With an abstract of the travels and sufferings of Mr. William Lithgow, a Scotsman, in the inquisition; and an account of other cruelties in that wicked court likewise, Mr. Bower, who was secretary to the inquisition, his reasons for leaving the same. A relation of the founding of a military order in Rome, to wit, of the immaculate Conception of our Lady, the blessed Virgin. Composed by Iames Wadsworth, Gentleman, lately conuerted into his true mothers bosome, the Church of England, and heretofore pentioner to the King of Spaine.

A short view; or history of the inquisition of the Kingdoms of Spain, Portugal, &c. to this day. Under the following Heads: Its Rise, Progress, and Establishment, Its boundless Jurisdiction, Its Officers, Laws, Customs, Their Judgments, Tortures, Penances, &c. Interspersed with Many curious Relations of Persons who have suffer'd under their Arbitrary Power; particularly that of Isaac Martin, an Englishman, who lay long in Prison at Granada, and was released by the Interposition of his late Majesty King George, whose Account has the Sanction of a Certificate signed by thirteen Bishops at the Instance of Mr Secretary Craggs.
