A catalogue of a very large collection of foreigners who have been in England, ranged alphabetically: Comprising [a]lmost all those mentioned by Granger and Bromley in their appendixes, with many others not generally known; most of them illustrated with notes and references to Clarendon, Burnet, and other books, &c. giving some account of the parties. Here, also, ...ill be found some of the rarest works of British painters and engravers; because the plates, having been done for foreigners, were sent abroad as soon as finished, and very few impressions have since found their way back into this country. ... opportunity like the present will not often occur, to form a numerous collection of eminent statesmen who have figured here in the diplomatic character. To these are added, some very rare private plates, and some curious anonymous prints, all belonging to the British series. Together with ... parcels of elephant and other paper, of various sizes fit ... pasting prints, as also blank-paper books, for transcribing catalogues, with many articles useful to collectors; which will be sold by auction, by Mr. Ricardson, at his House, ... 31, the corner of Villiers Street, in the Strand, [o]n Monday, April 29, 1799, and the following day, at twelve o'clock. ... be viewed on Saturday, the 17th. Catalogues may be had of ... Clarke, bookseller, Bond-Street; Mr. Geo. Cooper, Glas ..., &c. No. 82, Lombard-street; and of Mr. Richardson, [N]o. 31, Strand.
