Ownership note

These albums were passed to the Health Board Archivist by the Medical Administrator, George Stirling when he retired in 1987. It is thought they were originally deposited at Crichton Royal by one of John Rutherford's relatives. Originally there were two volumes of photographs, but as they required conservation treatment they were remounted and placed in five volumes in 1992/93.
