About this work

Description

The Central Branches Committee first met in Jan 1929, and was composed of representatives of the local branches and Council members. It was to act as a forum for branches to bring forward concerns which would then be submitted to Council. Branches could still approach Council directly if they wished. In Feb 1942 its name was changed to the Branches’ Central Committee. Its final meeting was in Apr 1950, and thereafter the Executive Council took over its function of holding meetings and annual meetings for branch representatives.
