Drug advertising ephemera. Box 10.

Chromolitho card issued possibly in the 1890s by Dietrich Ferdinand Onnen, pharmacist, for local distribution (there is no mention of the name of the town where his premises are located) advertising his shop and German Fever and Ague Mixture for "all forms of malarial disease", on sale at 50 cents and containing no arsenic or quinine. This may have been sent as a Christmas card (we have two different ones - possibly from different years). The picture shows a rural snow scene: a house behind a pond, a cart between them, trees and bushes to the left.

1728 newspaper cutting advertising Dr. Bateman's Pectoral Drops, patented and available from the Cluer's printing office in Bow Churchyard, London and by W. Dicey and R. Raikes in Northampton and Gloucester. The trademark of a boar's head surrounded by the words: "By the king's patent" is to the top of the text. The drops were also supposed to cure gravel, sand, stones, rickets and act as a fortifying tonic.

Leaflet advertising George Brown's febrifuge tincture of yellow peruvian bark for intermittent fever, first sold in 1793. includes testimonials from doctors Babington, Relph, Murray,Saunders, Hervey and O' Ryan and a short list of stockists in London. Similar to another issued in [1804], but typeset differently.
