What brought you to our website today?

Sita was forced to prove her purity after her abduction by Ravana and subsequent rescue by Rama. Though Sita proved her innocence and Rama believed her, she was banished by his people to the forest whereupon she retreated and gave birth to twin sons, Kusa and Lava. Many years later Rama went to the forest to perform a horse sacrifice, the horse bolted and was captured by Kusa and Lava. Rama insisted that the horse be returned, the twins refused and fought with Rama's aids and eventually Rama himself. Rama eventually recognised his sons and was reunited with Sita and their sons

The issue features Wonder Woman fighting giant sea beasts and birds. The cover shows her tied up, the blunt end of a harpoon aimed suggestively at her genital region. Includes a body building advertisement (Mike Marvel system) on inside back cover.

Shows "the irregular mode of pitched battles now in use" in pugilism, which is contrasted with the boxing academy established by Mendoza in the Lyceum, the Strand, London ('Pugilism', op. cit.)

Abel Drugger is the ingenuous tobacconist in Jonson's 1610 play. David Garrick's performance of the role in 1743 made the character well-known, and the play was often revised to include more scenes featuring Drugger. Garrick retired from acting in 1776, a year before this print was made
