The baby was not born: Princess Charlotte died in childbirth on 6 November 1817

The Prince Regent bearing a steaming bowl to Lady Hertford says: "Come my good Lady take another sup and you will be able to bring forth some more", she replies: "Well I'll try! but I hope they won't have such thick heads as the last". Perceval is saying to the little men: "Now my little gentlemen stand up, and do as I bid you, here we go up up up", perhaps refering to Lady Hertford's recommendation of leniency to the Regent regarding government

The patient (John Bull) wears his trousers round his neck, his jacket around his legs, his shoes on his hands and his gloves on his feet: he has "phrenzy" (mania , delirium). Lord Eldon (left) feels John Bull's pulse. Lord Liverpool (upper left) bleeds him in the arm with a lancet, causing a spout of gold to be issued; the gold is siphoned off by Sir John McMahon, private secretary to the Prince Regent and keeper of the privy purse (bottom left) Castlereagh (above, centre) shovels boluses into his mouth. Napoleon (below) s wedged into an apothecary's mortar about to be crushed by a pestle wielded by Death portrayed as a doctor. Sir F. Burdett, fighting with a judge, holds a surgeon's saw. Grenville (right foreground, with large backside) walks off with a physician's gold-headed cane. Beyond him are two other whigs, Earl Grey (in profile) and Baron Holland

The Duke of Buckingham says: "Oh! doctor I feel greatly exhausted." , the doctor (Sidmouth) replies: "After so severe a labor it is but natural I would recommend you a composing draught, and to keep very quiet." Eldon standing next to him says: "Well my dear, how do you find yourself". The nurse (Wellington) who is holding the mouse says: "I think a very nice little thing, and far handsomer than a certain great Bantling that I could name", the other two nurses (Aberdeen and Lyndhurst) say respectively: " Certainly quite unlike all other offsprings of 'La Montagne", and "Well it must be confessed my little buck that you had a Stow-age enough however."; the three male spectators comment: "What a pretty little thing", "The miserable little abortion can't live", and "They say its mama got a fright."

According to the British Museum catalogue, not the Green Bag committee which investigated the allegations of adultery made against Queen Caroline, but a different one, set up by the Home Secretary Henry Addington to look into possible seditious conspiracies

King George IV and entourage laden with provisions, about to embark from Brighton in the Royal Yacht; representing the extravagant monarch's distressed retreat from England at the time of the Queen's trial. Coloured etching by R. Cruikshank, 1820.

The Prince Regent stands in the centre with a swollen left hand and a normal right hand. The two hands represent the amounts of money given to the army and navy respectively . On the viewer's left, next to the Regent's right hand, a naval officer complains about the discrepancy and John Bull protests against the corruption that causes it. On the viewer's right, the Regent's swollen left hand is supported by the Duke of Wellington (representing the army), and is inspected by Henry Addington, Lord Sidmouth (Home Secretary), represented as a surgeon-apothecary (his father's profession: he stands on a pestle and a mortar lies on the ground). Right, Castlereagh, Lord Londonderry (Foreign secretary), urges Vansittart (as Chancellor of the Exchequer) to raise more taxes to deal with it, but Vansittart replies that they are too high already (he had already raised taxes on male servants, carriages, horses, and dogs in 1812)
Two of the persons name the cause of the swelling in the hand as "gout" (the Prince Regent himself, who says "Confound this dd gout", and Castlereagh, who says "Levy more taxes to pay off and satisfy this cursed gout to prevent its spreading any further"); gout is also named n the publisher's caption. John Bull refers to it as "corruption" ("If you take away the corruption you may reduce it to its natural size with safety"), while Sidmouth puts the blame on "infection" ("We must supply some speedy remedy for the infection is spreading fast!!")
