What brought you to our website today?

The final film from 1969 is similar to the second. Black-and-white and silent it shows life at the Treatment Centre focusing more on recreational activities such as swimming, painting, eating lunch, washing and making dough shapes.

The first short film here appears to be a spoof about the medical profession although it is rather hard to follow. Firstly we see a man pull up in a car, then cut to a man in fake beard, moustache, glasses on a stage, gesticulating. Shots follow of a group of possibly onlookers getting pregressively younger from old man to small baby. We then see the same man in white laboratory clothes conducting some kind of experiments in a laboratory. The film ends when the man seems to have produced a tablet which he stirs into a glass of water and drinks.

Home movies of Dr. Bolton. Part 2, Residents play film.

This reel shows the Watford Spastics Centre in 1965. We follow a day in the life of children and staff there from the parents / ambulance crew dropping the children off to picking up time at the end of the day. Activities shown include children in the classrooms, playing outside, having physiotherapy, lunchtime in the canteen and nap time on rows of camp beds in the classroom.

This film is subtitled 'Being the lighter side of the International Physiological Congress, Zurich'. The film starts with a sheaf of paperwork being studied prior to the conference with the intertitle 'The Temptation to Go' and follows the decision to attend with the journey to Switzerland by plane. It turns out that the 'auditorium' is the hotel swimming pool packed with swimmers. The conference attendees (who are never seen actually at the conference) are seen relaxing and socialising. They have an excursion to Rapperswill; a group of researchers are described as 'Happy Hampstead', there is a sequence with Thomas Mann, other groups of unidentified conference attendees and then souvenirs which are beer mats.

A record of physiology in the sun.

Amateur footage of two women petting a small pedigree dog in a garden. Views of ruins of a church or abbey with tourists. A woman offers another woman a cigarette; a man joins them with a gun in preparation for a shoot. A group of people congregate outside a building where a speech is given by a man and then a well-dressed woman with furs. The door of the building is unlocked. The film ends abruptly.

This amateur film footage is the fourth reel of Mr Till's home movie collection comprising of the wedding of Anthony Till and Joan Burnyeat at St Marks, North Audley Street, London, 6th April, 1940. The male guests to the occasion are dressed in military uniform. The material has imaginatively conceived intertitles.
