The candidates being the Honourable John Scrope, Esq; Sir Abraham Elton, bart. and Thomas Coster, Esq; when upon casting up the poll the numbers stood as under, Honourable John Scrope, Esq; 1866 Sir Abraham Elton, bart. 2420 Thomas Coster, Esq; 2071 whereupon the two latter were declared duly elected.
