Description

Henry IV (1553-1610), the first of the Bourbon dynasty, concluded the French Wars of Religion. He was stabbed to death by François Ravaillac, who was scandalized by the King's traffic with heretics. Ravaillac stabbed the King as his coach was caught in a Paris traffic jam. After his assassination, Marie de Medici became Regent for their son Louis XIII
