    before, and adding thereto names of any others that are fit and desire to Communicate. The lists are checked by the Superintendent, who, for various reasons, might recommend the abstention of any individual on a given occasion. In these ways our Communion is made not to differ apparently from that of a Parish Church, and not only is the privilege highly valued, but deprivation would be keenly felt. The average attendance has been 18 Males and 26 Females. There has been no private administration during the year, though I have offered in a few cases. I have every reason to believe that the large con¬ gregations on Sundays, morning and afternoon, thoroughly enjoy the Chapel Services, which, twice a month, as well as on the Great Festivals and Harvest Thanksgiving, are musical, choral efficiency being promoted by a well-attended choir practice during a considerable part of the year. On Christmas Day, in accordance with the wish of the Bishop of the Diocese, as reported in the Press, I read the Lessons for the first time from the Revised Version, and propose to do so whenever I observe important alterations. Since the discontinuance of one of the two Sermons, now more than twelve months, I have employed the time saved by holding short services of about 20 minutes each, alternately in the Centre and Annexe Hospitals, Male and Female. These consist of a Hymn, Epistle, and Gospel, parts of Morning Prayer and Visitation of* the Sick, with extemporaneous adaptations. The average attendance for the year has been at the Annexe 62 Males and 34 Females, at the Centre 22 Males and 22 Females. By these means there are very few but have the opportunity of common worship most Sundays. According to regulation I preached Sermons on Good Friday and Christmas Day. The Wednesday Chapel Services and Eight o’clock Prayers other week-days have been as largely attended as is possible, considering the multifarious claims on the time of both Patients and Staff. I have visited all the Wards three times a week, occasionally the Shops and Laundry, and ministered to the sick according to opportunity and requirements, and
