During the year thirty eight boats have been inspected, three infringements ot the Acts were detected, two without certificate, on board, and one case in which a male person over the age of fourteen years and a female over twelve years were occupying the same cabin ; in each case a notice was served upon the owners and complied with. The boats were in good condition, the cabins were clean and free from over¬ crowding and infectious disease, they were registered for one hundred and forty three persons and occupied by ninety four persons, children. comprised of seventy six males, (adults), and eight Month No. ot boats Month No. of boats January, 1 July, 2 Feby., 6 6 children on board.
