Includes instructions on what to do when bitten by a viper (or adder) in 1736 and 1798, restoring the apparently drowned (Royal National Life-Boat Association - 1897, 1904) and instances of intense cold, hanging, suffocation, being hit by lightning, sparians, fractures, bleeding, poisoning, insensibility, home nursing, Royal Humane Society, bandaging, applying the Hayes splint, Boots' Tincture of Iodine, and Home first-aid cases, first aid after an air raid (1940), Alfred Parker (Uttoxeter) and his 'sick room requisites including enemas, chest protectors, bed pans, inhalers, feeding cups, bronchitis kettles etc., wounds and scratches, 'A modern accident and emergency unit: the resuscitation room' (1968), Cuxson Gerrard & Co.
