    REGULATIONS FOR THE DIPLOMA OF MEMBERSHIP OF THE AUSTRALASIAN MASSAGE ASSOCIATION, As approved by the Council on the 10th May, 1906. 1. Candidates for the Diploma of Membership of the Australasian Massage Association shall, before entering upon the second year of their pro- fessional studies, satisfy the Council of the Association, or where a branch of the Association has been duly constituted, the Branch Council— (a) That they have undergone a preliminary general education approved by the Council. (b) That they possess a physical and general fitness as shown by Certificate from a registered medical practitioner appointed by the Council for the purpose. 2. Candidates shall pursue their professional studies for two years, and pass two Examinations. 3. A—During the first year Candidates shall attend Courses of Lectures and Instruction approved by the Council, on— (1) Anatomy, (2) Physiology, (3) Theory and Practice of Medical Gymnastics, and shall perform a First course of Dissections. 4. The subjects of Examination of the first year shall be (1) Anatomy, (2) Physical, (3) Theory and Practice of Medical Gymnastics. B—During the second year Candidates shall attend Courses of Lectures and Instruction on— (1) Anatomy, (2) Elementary Medical Electricity, (3) The Theory and Practice of Massage, and shall perform a Second course of Dissections, and shall attend during twelve months the Massage practice of a Hospital recognised by the Council; the Certificate thereof to specify that the Candidate has received instruction in the theory of Massage, and has acquired manipulative dexterity in its practice and in the application of Roller bandage. 5. The subjects of the Examination for the second year shall be :— (1) Anatomy. (2) Elementary Medical Electricity. (3) Theory and Practice of Massage. G. All courses of instruction under these regulations shall,'as far as possible, be illustrated by diagrams, experiments, dissections and other practical modes of demonstration to the satisfaction of the Council. 7. All examinations shall be partly written, partly oral, and partly practical. In each case Candidates who have failed to pass shall be allowed to again present themselves after an interval to be fixed by the Council. In each subject the Lecturer shall be one Examiner, and there shall be one or more Co-Examiners appointed by the Council. 8. Candidates who have passed the foregoing Examinations, and have fulfilled the prescribed, conditions, shall be entitled to the Diploma of Member- ship of the Australasian Massage Association. 9. The details of subjects in the foregoing curriculum, and the corresponding scale of fees shall be prescribed by the Branch Council, and shall be subject to the approval of the Council.
