About this work

Description

Transmission electron micrograph showing a keratocyte in the corneal stroma. The nucleus fills much of the cell but mitochondria and distended rough endoplasmic reticulum are also present. This distended RER indicates active protein secretion. This cell is approximately 20 microns long.
