Physical description

1 volume 98 [118] ll. obl. 8vo. 16 × 20 cm. Unbound, in original calf bound wooden slip case in the shape of a book: inscribed on the back 'Pour mes amis'. Each leaf is numbered at the back in pencil: the following are missing: 1, 5, 10-13, 15, 27, 42, 46, 53-55, 71, 78, 94, 95, 97, 116. The entries are on loose sheets, with a decorated engraved frame by W. Darling of Newport St. (London).

Purchased 1906.

Biographical note

No information has been obtained as to Sundersberg, except what can be extracted from the entries. From 1779 to 1787 he appears to have lived in London: and from 1790-1793 to have travelled in various parts of Europe, with a visit to Russia in 1792. He was also a Freemason.
