About this work

Description

This image shows a boy inspecting his shoes. There is a nail in the rubber of the sandal which may penetrate and wound the sole of his foot. Regular inspection of footwear and removal of foreign bodies or rough surfaces can help prevent injury to leprosy patients with insensitive feet. It is essential to provide leprosy patients with specially adapted footwear to protect their anaesthetic feet from injury.
