Description
The top scene illustrates a 'Quadruple treaty for the partition of the dominions of G- B- between ye four contracting powers' who are from right to left: the King of Spain, King of France, Empress-Queen Maria Theresa and the King of Prussia. In the lower scene, King George III weeps at the sight of the Duke of Grafton's administration. Grafton was then first Lord of the Treasury. The Duke of Grafton became head of the Treasury in July 1766 but his administration was plagued with difficulties
