About this work
Description
Advertising 'stamp' or sticker (one of at least three designs) intended to be stuck on envelopes, thereby promoting awareness of St. Dunstan's homes for rehabilitation of armed forces personnel who have lost their sight in the service of their country. This one shows a victorious knight in armour (St. George?) standing over the body of a fallen dragon, raising his sword in his right hand and a banner in his left on which St. Dunstan's is written. It is taken from a sheet and may have been sold to raise funds for the organization.
