Description

In the foreground, sculptures of a lion and a lioness sit on plinths carved with Egyptiian hieroglyphs. In a Piranesian caprice, the lion turns his head to look at two men clambering on the ruins, right. Between the two beasts is the ruin of an obelisk also carved with hieroglyphs. Behind, left, is a Greek temple in the Ionic order
