The Committee on Public Charitable Institutions, to which was referred the Report of the Joint Committee of the Leg- islature of Massachusetts, appointed April 20th, 1848, on the subject of Insanity in the State, &c, would respectfully REPORT: That this subject has, as its importance demanded, met their attentive consideration. The result is their unanimous concur- rence in the conclusions of that Committee, as to the immediate necessity for the erection of another hospital for the insane in this Commonwealth. They would, therefore, recommend the adoption of the accompanying Resolves. For the Committee, CHARLES EDWARD COOK.
