About this work

Description

Black and white photograph of a remarkable cyst of the thyroid gland, which was removed by operation. The cyst has been cut open, and is lying, with its contents, in a heap at the bottom of a basin. The interior of they cyst was completely filled with rounded crenate bodies, which were chiefly composed of solidified colloid material. These bodies were all free; they were not attached either to each other or to the cyst wall.
