Description

Photograph of two images. The top image is a page from a manuscript, showing the death-bed of Sir Richard Whittington (also known as Dick Whittington). The bottom image is a photograph of the tomb of Rahere, the founder of St. Bartholomew's Church and hospital in Smithfield, London in the early twelfth century. Rahere's effigy was installed in the church in the early fifteenth century
