Re. 17 The first clause of the quotation is from verse 43 of 1 Samuel 17: "Am I a dog that thou comest to me with staves" (although we see no staves in evidence here). The second clause is from verse 46, where David replies, "[I] will take thine head from thee" Bears number: 6
