Notes

Caption title
The papers, dated from 1803 to 1818, were apparently sent to the trustees of the University of Pennsylvania in support of Cooper's candidacy for the chair of chemistry in the Faculty of Medicine. They include testimonials which Cooper stated to have been mislaid in his previously printed letter "To the Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania" (Philadelphia, 1818)
Typographical evidence indicates that Abraham Small was the printer. Cf. Austin
