About this work

Description

The Golden Mount is an artificial hill in Bangkok, bordered by a moat. It is here shown in an unfinished state. It was designed to emulate a similar eminence in the former capital Ayutthaya. In the foreground a woman sits on a raft next to two small boats tethered to it, one of them being full of varied fruits (pineapple, mango, banana, pumpkin) and the other containing long-stemmmed durian. For further details see Paisarn Piemmettawat, loc. cit.
