    likewise of importance to recollect the direc¬ tion necessary to be given to the catheter, when it is found necessary to introduce it in cases of procidentia uteri; for here the blad¬ der forms a portion of the external tumor, dragging with it the meatus urinarius; so that, in order to introduce a catheter, the point of the instrument must be turned towards the knees of the woman, otherwise it will en¬ ter the passage, but not reach the bladder.
