About this work

Description

Erect branched stems. Grey green ovate leaves and purple/white tubular flowers. It is known for its mild calming effect (similar to valerian) and for the way cats are attracted to the aroma. Has been used to restore menstrual flow and in the treatment of whooping cough. Chewing the leaves is said to relieve toothache. The plant may also be eaten in salads.
