Biographical note

E. B. Waggett was an eminent laryngologist and surgeon to the Eye, Nose and Throat Hospital and to Charing Cross Hospital from 1905. He served in Belgium and Salonika during the 1914-18 War, and was awarded the D.S.O. in 1918. [Cf. B.M.J., 1939, i, p. 90]. C. E. Woakes was also surgeon to the Eye, Nose, and Throat Hospital and aural surgeon to the London Hospital [cf. B.M.J., 1936 ii, p. 790].
