About this work
Description
The sitters were the examiners in pathology in the year in which the Royal University of Ireland ceased to exist. Queen's College Belfast became The Queen's University of Belfast; its sister colleges at Cork and Galway (QCC and QCG), with University College Dublin, completed the trio of University Colleges (UCC, UCG, UCD) that constituted the National University of Ireland (notes kindly supplied by Prof. W. St Clair Symmers III, January 1994)
On A.E. Moore see R. O'Rahilly, A history of the Cork Medical School, Cork 1949, pp. 46-47. Of E.J. McWeeney there is an obituary in J. Path. Bacteriol., 1925, vol. 28, p. 700. On W. St Clair Symmers see Who was who 1929-1940
