Title page is fully engraved.
The emblems are after those engr. by Wm. Simpon, & others for earlier editions; those in the last 3 books of "Emblemes" are copied from Herman Hugo's "Pia desideria" & Quarles' verses in these books are translated or paraphrased from Hugo.
"Hieroglyphikes of the life of man", originally published separately in 1638, has engraved divisional title page; pagination and register appear to be continuous.
Verso of final leaf contains advertisement for books printed for Gillyflower and Freeman.
Numerous errors in pagination.
