The Marshall Medal is the Society's premier award. It was established in 1963 following the suggestion of Sir Alan Parkes, to commemorate the life and work of FHA Marshall. It was awarded from time to time by the Society to outstanding contributors to the study of fertility and reproduction.
The Amoroso Lecture was the prestigious lecture given at the Society's Annual Conference. This award was established in 1984, by the former Society for the Study of Fertility, as a memorial lecture in honour of Professor EC Amoroso.
The Hammond Lecture was presented at the Society's winter meeting by an illustrious scientist, particularly recognised for their contribution to the practical application of reproductive research to agriculture. This award was established in 1980, by the former Society for the Study of Fertility, as a memorial lecture in honour of Sir John Hammond.
The Amoroso Lecture, the Hammond Lecture and the Parkes Lecture (formerly awarded by the Journal of Reproduction and Fertility Ltd at the Annual Conference) were replaced in 2004 by the SRF (Society for Reproduction and Fertility) Distinguished Scientist Lecture.
