About this work

Description

The four members of the party are (L-R), Commodore Nutt (the groomsman), "Tom Thumb" (Charles Sherwood Stratton, 1838-1883), Lavinia Warren Stratton (Mercy Lavinia Warren Bump, 1841-1919) and Lavinia's sister, Minnie Warren (the bridesmaid). All four were employed by Phineas Taylor Barnum (1810-1891) as exhibits in his American Museum. The wedding party went on an official tour following the ceremony
