About this work

Description

Sarah Dunant chairs a lively debate on the ethical problems arising out of medical-scientific innovations, including a multi-organ transplant after which the child patient died; the use of foetal tissue for the treatment of Parkinson's disease and for infertility; and a patient's right to know if he/she is a carrier of a genetic disease. The participants are Prof. Ian Kennedy (King's College, London), Prof. Sheila Maclean (University of Glasgow), Prof. Marcus Pembry (Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital) and Prof. Lewis Wolpert (University College, London).
