Sarah Dunant chairs a lively debate on the ethical problems arising out of medical-scientific innovations, including a multi-organ transplant after which the child patient died; the use of foetal tissue for the treatment of Parkinson's disease and for infertility; and a patient's right to know if he/she is a carrier of a genetic disease.
